Teaching respect and appreciation for military service members

I'm not sure if this is in the right group or not.....

My hubby and I have a 5 year old daughter, since she was 2 we've been instilling in her respect and appreciation for the men/women of the military. Today we are heading up see Santa at the mall, a mall near a military base. While at the mall or anywhere for that matter if she sees anyone in military uniform she walks up to them, says thank you and shakes their hand. Something that simple has taught her to respect and appreciation the sacrifice our military men/women have made to keep us safe.
