Do you think it's ok for women to be good at DIY?

I'm currently fitting a kitchen from scratch in my home, including plumbing and electrics, I'm building a huge cat climber and I built a 16ft shed from scratch including plumbing and electrics, but I'm sick of being told I shouldn't be doing mens work, women should only be doing the painting and helping, not the actual building or fiddly parts! What do you ladies think? And why?
