Toddler hurt my feelings.
It was bedtime. I was exhausted, hungry, and running low on patience. I sang the songs and tucked her in. I left the room and she immediately started screaming. She said she had to pee. So I got her out of bed and took her to the potty.
First I asked her, "Do you really need to go potty?" She told me she did. I reminded her she had just peed a few minutes ago and lying is bad. She said she had to pee,
I sat her on the potty and she didn't pee at all. Nothing. She was laughing and goofing off. I scolded her. Probably was a bit more stern than I should have been. I laid her down in bed and instantly regret raising my voice at her. I picked her up and hugged her and apologized. I told her how much I loved her. I asked if she forgave me.
She told me she wanted the Cocomelon mommy. I told her, no, I was her mommy and I loved her very much. She insisted on wanting Cocomelon mommy. Then she said she wanted Miss Appleberry.
I know it sounds dumb, but it hurt my feelings! That freaking mom on Cocomelon is all patient and kind all the time. I've noticed all the alcohol they show in their kitchen and such. I'm sure that mom drinks after the kids are in bed. 😅
...but seriously. I hope she didn't mean it. 😩
