Period after ER

I started my IVF cycle on 09/21, ER 10/01. I then had a bleed 5 days later which I’ve been informed wasn’t a period, just a random bleed due to coming off meds.

It’s now 6 weeks after my last normal period and I’ve not had another yet.

How long did it take everyone to have a period after ER? My gynaecologist has told me they want to wait until my cycle after my next one to reduce the risk of wasting an embryo… a long wait but I guess they know best with our health 😭
