LABOR AND COVID?

What will happen if I’m positive for covid and go into labor ? Will my baby be put in the nicu? I don’t have a partner my baby can go home with and my whole household is positive for covid right now , does anyone know ?

Baby wouldn’t go to NICU unless there’s something wrong. Most babies are born COVID free and the babies that are born positive are usually just fine. Nothing to worry about mama, just stay hydrated and get plenty of rest and keep your doc in the loop.

I was positive and my midwife said unless I show up at the hospital on my death bed, baby stays with me especially since I have a support person with me. At first I was going to have to be in isolation—which meant all drs and nurses would have to dress in full PPE, but my viral load was low enough to indicate an old infection so they were no longer concerned especially given that I didn’t have a ton of symptoms.

I don’t know specifics but I think the hospital employees would be dressed in the serious gear to be protected. They would treat you as Covid positive so you might be placed on a covid positive floor or wing but it’s different for every hospital
