No Birthday gift from husband
Today is my birthday. My husband got me absolutely nothing. Two years ago, same thing. I told him then that any gesture, a card or a heartfelt note will even be fine. I don’t need anything extravagant. Last year he got me some food from his cafeteria at work, imagine. This year, he sent me a text then called me with a stuttering prayer from work. When he came home, nothing. He said I know he’s been working and he will do something for me. The fact that I even have to ask infuriates me. He’s not the most giving person but he has bought gifts for other people even recently but all year will go and he won’t buy me a single gift. Honestly I’m very upset and resentful. I try my best to make sure he’s not lacking but if I start to move differently out of resentment he will say I’m vindictive. But how do you continue serving and can’t even be appreciated on your birthday. I feel taken for granted like I have to ask to be celebrated. I appreciate other things he does but you can’t just be gift less all the time.
