Premature Ovarian Aging

So my doctor told me yesterday that he thinks the reason I haven't been able to conceive in 3 years is due to premature ovarian aging. He said at the age of 30 that I have the ovaries of a 40 year old. I'm not producing as many follicles as I should be at my age. He's confirming it with blood work but he's pretty sure that the next step may be IVF. He went ahead and prescribed me follistim injections and I go in for an ultrasound next week. Anyone else have this or heard of it? I'm staying pretty positive despite the news. I broke down the day I got the news but I have faith that God has a special plan for me and my husband and we just have to be patient and he will bless us.
