UK autism advice.

My son is only 2 so still very young but ever since he was little she's showed signs of autism. I have had several people who works with autistic children mention it to me and a few mums with autistic children have echoed my thoughts when I've brought it up. Because of Covid he hasn't been seen by a health visitor since he was a newborn but they've agreed to come and see him in the next few months.

My question is has anyone been through a diagnosis on the NHS. Can you give me any pointers or what to expect? I'm guessing they wouldn't see him until after he's 3 but I think they might send him for speech therapy before that as he's behind with his communication.

Any advice is so so appreciated.
