Nanny vs daycare ?
Hi!
Just needs some opinions and thoughts.
My dd was in the waitlist for daycare for 4 months and finally gets a spot. She will be 1 year old when she starts.
During the time waiting, I found a nanny quite matched my care style and routine (not everything but most). She has had a lot of time play and also eat well at nanny’s house.
Money is not a problem for me.
Care time:
The nanny also has 2 sons (8 and 7 yo), so care time is limited. 9am to 2pm.
Daycare is open from 7am to 6pm. But I probably only needs from 9am to 4pm. This daycare is a newly built school. Higher rates compares to others.
Location:
Nanny: 25 min from home.
Daycare: 35 min from home.
I usually work from home. But If I choose daycare, I will go to office on that day, drop her off on the way.
Diet and eating:
Daycare seems more variety. And maybe she can learn to led-weaning better.
The nanny feeds her most of the time. No led-weaning.
Sickness and safety:
My dd has not started daycare yet, but somehow she got a cold last week. And really, I don’t have time investigate or blame whom did it (it could be me 😅)
I also understand that it is likely my dd will expose to germ more frequently at daycare (and possibly COVID as well).
I work from home mostly, so if she got sick, it does not matter daycare or nanny, I will keep her at home when trying to finish work. Some months would be harder, I know.
