Am I being “petty” or reasonable?

My husbands ex wife, apart from child support, will ask him for money. It’s usually around 100-200 dollars and she does end up paying him back but I always tell him, why doesn’t she ask her boyfriend? Her family? Her close friends? She’s always asking him and if he doesn’t respond she will text until she gets an answer. He usually does it but it’s starting to bug me now…She gets almost 1k in child support and I’m sure if it was for their son she would say! She’s known for using his money for other things (he’s told me) i told him I don’t want him giving her money anymore (apart from child support) am I being reasonable?

Has he ever told her no? Maybe because he tells her yes and feels comfortable with asking him. If she always pays him back I don’t see the big deal, honestly.

eh, they were married and have kids together, i really wouldn’t care if he gave her a couple extra hundred as long as we could afford it.

The child support orderis typically the bare minimum required. It usually doesn't reflect the actual cost of raising a child. Maybe you and Dad could offer 50/50 parenting time so Mom has more time on her hands to work.

She goes to him because she knows he will give it to her. My current partner's ex wife does the same thing and I absolutely hate it. Tho since their child support was set up the only money he has "given" her has been things he has directly paid for himself so he knew exactly where it was going and knew it was honestly for the children. I believe your SO should put his foot down and not give his ex a penny over child support unless his kids ho estly need it and he knew for certain it was being used for them, tho he probably gives in just so she will shut up about it and most of the time she pays him back.

Since he pays child support, it's not for his kiddo, and she does pay him back...she sees it as a loan. So no, I wouldn't be cool with it. He has his own family with you to focus on as well. $1000 is a lot of child support.
With that being said, my husband has always said if we got divorced he would help me get a house and get on my feet and make sure I'm cared for because I'm the mother of his children and they deserve that stability and so do I.
