How long does LH surge last?

Hi I’m 34 and TTC for baby #2. I had a break from TTC after a scary early miscarriage in 2017 and again in 2018. Me and my partner are finally trying again and I have just started using OPKs for the first time in a long time. I had a positive opk late afternoon today then a negative opk this evening. Is that alright or should my LH surge last longer than a few hours?

This has happened to me and I think it was because the urine was diluted (I drink a lot of water) and I didn’t wait 4 hours after the last time peeing to test. It can give you a negative when you are really still surging.

Surges can be short or long. Both are fine. Just depends on the person.

Mine usually stay positive for 2-3 days

Mine happened similarly - one day positive and the next day only a very light line. I have been reading that once you see it, you’ll ovulate in 12-36 hours and then have 6-24 hours of fertility once you’ve ovulated.

My peak (test line is darker than control) lasts one day, and it starts getting lighter day after.

OPKs can be positive for 12hrs up to a couple days.  It’s different for each person.  Baby dust your way!
