Have any of you ladies have gotten the green light to put rice cereal in babies bottle do to poor weight gain and spit up?

Did this work for your little one did it help with spit up and poor weight gain?
My doctor suggested it to me since my little one has poor weight gain and has trouble keeping his feeding down. He was also checked for Pyloric stenosis and  everything was ok . That was ruled out but now she recommended to thicken his formula with rice cereal. I just want to know if this has help your little one

This is a very outdated recommendation and I wouldn’t do it if told by the pediatrician. I’d start looking for a different doctor

Even if you do introduce rice cereal (which honestly has zero nutritional value) never put it in a bottle. It’s a choking hazard. I can’t believe there are still doctors who are recommending this.

If my pediatrician ever recommended that, I would laugh my ass right out of their office.
That is seriously outdated and *dangerous* advice. It’s a huge choking hazard, could literally kill your baby.
Find you a competent doctor who’s up to date on CDC recommendations.

I was prescribed Carobel thickener for my first baby as she couldn't keep anything down. As soon as she fed it would all come up again. It was a God send. She was also on allergy formula with small but frequent feeds.

I would never put it in a bottle. It’s a huge choking risk!
How old is your bub? We started my girl with purées at 4 months and mixed formula powder I to the food to help with weight gain. 
She was also obsessed with eating food (still is) so we knew she was ready to start eating.
