7 month old baby not taking solids. Can we take a break for a week?

Our baby boy is 7 months 2 weeks. We introduced solids at 6 months. We’ve been giving him solids nearly every day and he will not take a bite! Over the course of 6 weeks with nearly consistent twice daily feedings, he’s maybe taken 10 bites total, the entire time. He has no developmental delays. He has hit all the milestones required for solids. He’s 90% height and 80% weight. We’ve met with a lactation consultant and he’s getting plenty of breastmilk! We’ve tried BLW, purées, homemade, pouches, everything and he spits it all up or recoils, turns away and cries. Sometimes he’ll smile and we’ll get a bite in but he spits it out. I’ve been concerned about allergies so I’ve been trying to feed him allergens and end up spreading them on his lips hoping he gets some exposure.

Can I pause our efforts for a week or two or is it negligent to stop feeding solids now. It’s incredibly frustrating and we aren’t making progress.
