How in the world do we find common ground here?

My husband and I are expecting our second child (yay), but we don’t know the sex yet. We’re settled on a boy name… but we are having a tough time with the girl name.
I like, as he would say, “hippie” names like: Hazel, Juniper, Luella, Alma, and Olive.
And he likes names like: Catherine, Elizabeth, Marie, Sadie, and Penelope,
I’m glad he has at least brought names to the table, but I feel like there is no way we’re going to be able to find common ground here. Any suggestions?

Hazel Marie is super cute. Hazel is actually a pretty classic name, not really hippie. Any chance you could compromise with something like that? Or another name thats classic/old fashioned but fresh/uncommon?

There’s a few baby name apps like tinder where you both swipe left or right on names you like and then it shows you what matches you have with your partner. That might work for you all!

My husband vetoed every name I liked and I didn’t like his options either. I just picked the one I liked the most out of his choices and kept thinking about it and eventually came around to it. I got to pick the middle name.

I had this problem with my partner , he liked traditional names & I preferred unique female names… I made a list of like 100+ names I liked & just kept pushing the discussion until we found one we both really liked and agreed upon .. & then we found out we are having a boy lol.

June or Josephine (nickname: Josie) might be compromise names? Both established names, but a little whimsical like your style. Someone suggested Violet which I also think is a good compromise!

Hard to say 🤔 What's your style? You can always brainstorm some names and then come up with one that neither of you hate but neither of you love 🤔 My husband and I picked Hannah because we both think it is "just okay". Now we both love it because it is her name. He really wanted Charlotte, which is okay, but everyone is using that name nowadays. This way, we're both more or less happy.
