Car seat Replace?

Not sure who to ask about this but.. my husband and I got into a small fender bender the only damage to our car was our back light. Thankfully baby wasn’t in the car but the car seat base was. Do I need to replace the base?

Call your insurance and ask them, this happened to a neighbor of mine a few years ago and insurance sent them a whole new car seat automatically. When my mom totaled her car 5 years ago and had a car seat I had given her in her van her insurance made her buy the new seat and then they reimbursed her with the receipt. Either way you may be able to get it paid for! But yes definitely replace it.

Yes! At least where we live…when my husband was side swiped they said If he didn’t replace his car seat and got into a worse wreck later that they may not cover any medical costs of the baby because the car seat wasn’t replaced no matter how minor. Not sure you turned it into your insurance but they may cover the cost of a new car seat. Ours did and they let us pick it out. Good luck and glad everyone is okay!

Safest things to do it to call the manufacturer of the seat and ask . I would say no since it wasn't a big accident but you never know better safe than sorry
