What do your newborns sleep in?

This is my 4th pregnancy but my first 3 kids slept in this rocker that has been recalled. They all hated the flat crib. What if anything, can a child sleep in that’s safe besides a flat crib?

Nothing if you are following recommended safe sleep practices. Flat mattress always

A bassinet, crib, or pack n play. Anything else isn’t considered safe even if people have done it “and their kids were fine”. You don’t know your kid won’t like the crib if you don’t try. You should try to get them used to it from day one. It may take adjustment and some babies just aren’t good sleepers. That’s just my opinion. Personally I would stick with what is actually considered safe. No I’m not trying to be judgy, but I would personally rather stick with something safe and lose a little extra sleep.

I see Snoo’s get recommended all the time, but it’s hard to justify spending over $1k on something they will only use for 6 months the most. And that’s if your baby can fit in one for that long which many don’t.

Mine slept in a Snoo until she was 6m, and then had been in my bed with me ever since. We breastfed, and followed the safe sleep 7. We had a very firm flat mattress, I took zero prescriptions or OTC meds, and no drinking or drugs. She wouldn’t sleep anywhere else otherwise once she outgrew her Snoo.

This is my 4th. My others were HORRIBLE sleepers. They hated being on their backs, hated swaddles, would wake 5 min after I’d lay them down after feeding and would fuss until I’d pick them up. This time around I splurged because I like sleep and the idea of something helping my baby go back to sleep after a midnight feed sounded like a worthy investment. I will say it is crazy expensive. That being said I was able to get 30% discount for being a healthcare worker. I will also say that the resale for these is generally around$900 on Facebook marketplace etc so you will essentially get a big chunk of money back. Lastly is your baby downright hates it, the company gives you 30days to try it and you can return it for a full refund in that period if it doesn’t work out. I’ve only been using it for a week but so far my baby has done really well. It seems to keep her content and asleep after feedings.

I used this until 4 months and now she’s in her crib. I had the plain stand but there is a rocking stand for it as well. 
Safe sleep is a flat firm surface.
