What is your baby wearing on the way home from hospital?

I know here the uk we are advised not to travel in the car with a heavy sleep suit on or anything similar. As I'm having a winter baby i have no idea what he will be wearing on the car journey home! Any ideas?

Having a winter baby, she'll wear a warm footie pajama, hat, infant mittens, and a blanket. It's a short trip from hospital to car, and car to house. No need to over bundle for the short walk especially since the car is heated.

I have all winter babies and each of them rode home in warm footed pajamas, a hat, and a blanket for cover walking to and from the car.  My husband always goes out and warms it up while I’m discussing discharge instructions and gathering my things so the only cold baby goes through is the short few steps from the hospital door to the vehicle.☺️

Both my babies will be early spring babies (Feb and Mar) here in Canada, and both will just be wearing a little onesie with sleeper pyjamas on top and a hat home from the hospital. Once buckled properly in the car seat, you can start bundling them. My first kiddo there was a muslin swaddle, then warm blanket tucked over, then zipped up waterproof insulated car seat cover overtop. You can of course adjust layers based on the temperature.
