We keep our house cold-newborn issues?

Question

My spouse and I like to keep our fan on and AC at 68 at night.  
I’m a FTM and due in a few months but I’m wondering if this temperature and the fan running is an issue for a newborn? Do they get sick? Is it too cold for them? Obviously I’ll swaddle and all but wondering if it’s not good for baby. 
Sorry if these are dumb questions.

Nope! Being too hot is dangerous for newborns, but being too cold isn’t and baby will let you know if they’re too cold. Keeping a fan running during sleep times also reduces the risk of sids so a fan is a good thing! My daughter always liked cooler temperatures than even I do.

Sounds like perfect sleeping conditions. Just put them in long sleeves and they'll be fine!
But honestly, many of my babies slept great in conditions that I think would be just a tad uncomfortable for me. You'll be pulling up the blankets way more than you think. It doesn't seem to bother them at all!

If the fan is running all night, I wouldn't. 
We normally sleep with a fan but baby will be born when it's cold, so we most likely won't be using it. Baby's get sick all the time

Being cool or cold won’t cause illness. Better to have the environment a bit cool and put baby in pjs and a swaddle for warmth than to have it too hot and still need to have baby swaddled for the startle reflex. So you’re good!

That is a good newborn temp! Idea temps are 68-72, but cooler is better. You can always put them in a long sleeve onesie and such too :) you’re doing great mama!

68-72 is perfect for a baby. We live in an older house that is drafty. It’s usually around 66° in our house so we just dress baby a little warmer.
