Baby aspirin?

My OB told me at 12 weeks to start taking baby aspirin every day. That he recommends it to all of his patients? This seems odd to me. Anyone else go through something similar?

This is becoming more common. I had pre e and HELLP with my kids and was perfectly healthy up to 38 weeks with both kids.

I took it but because i had preeclampsia a previous pregnancy. Ive never heard of it just being recommended to everyone.

Not sure why he would want you on it if you’re healthy and have no history of BP issues. I am taking it since 2nd trimester because my blood pressure elevated in my last few weeks with my first pregnancy. Maybe it’s a precaution. When I’m not pregnant I have zero health issues and low BP, so maybe it’s to help make sure you don’t end up with elevated blood pressure later on. It can happen even when you’re perfectly happy and have no previous issues with it

I’ve been taking it since 15 weeks. It helps prevent preeclampsia. Im currently 24 weeks and baby is perfect. I was scared at first to take it bc I never took it with my past 2 pregnancies. After a lot of research I learned that it’s good to take.

Baby aspirin prevents preeclampsia and high blood pressure during pregnancy. I’ve been on since i was 10 weeks. I’m now 24 weeks and my twins are doing great.
