Boyfriend spending 200k on a music video about his ex girlfriend
My boyfriend is a small singer/wrapper and he makes music videos. He's posted them on YouTube. He said writing and making videos is his life and coping skill even if he doesn't get the money back that he spent. He likes putting his work on the screen. 6 months ago he found out his ex girlfriend killed herself. He talked about his ex a lot. It was an extremely abusive, toxic relationship. She was bipolar but refused to get help. She got violent and hurt him, would serial cheat then accuse him of cheating. Had problems with addiction. It took him 11 years of being with her to leave. It was hard because they were childhood best friends. They met in the 2nd grade and starts dating their freshman year if high school. Won homecoming king and queen and prom king and queen both junior and senior prom. He always knew she has abusive parents and it was so complicated because he knew she loved him but didn't know how to love him correctly. He wrote a song and put a lot into it. It was about her and their life, being with someone who's struggles with addiction and bipolar. Watching someone you love turn into a completely different person. There was a lot in this song and the stuff he's adding in this music video, he's probably gonna have to trigger warning this music video. He gets into his own depression during the abuse in the relationship. And with how he wants to do this music video it's gonna cost him over 200K! Do you know how much he spent on the music video he made about his love for me? 30K. His reasoning is it's easy to talk and get across the point of love. It's easy to talk about an amazing relationship. At least for him in it is. But their relationship was so complicated and how he wants to tell this story through music and a music video he wants it a specific way because it's his art. And it's gonna cost more. He said it's not because he loves her more. It's because their story was much more complicated than ours. I get it... At the end of the day it's his money and he can choose what he spends it on but I'm still upset about it.
