Has anyone who had multiple miscarriages then had a successful one, and how did you handle the wait to 14 weeks? 24 weeks?

How did anyone handle the stress? After multiple miscarriages and a ruptured ectopic I’m scared to get pregnant again, and handle the wait. I swear the ectopic I was so stressed by 6 weeks that pregnancy wouldn’t have happened anyways. What do you do to cope? With the pregnancy and babies everywhere? With all of it? Did anyone just give up?

Answer

I lost 3 (2 second trimester losses) and was sent for ivf to do genetic testing in hopes of not losing anymore. I lost my first round of ivf but was able to get and stay pregnant with round 2. The pregnancy was hard. I threw up the whole time, even during labor and after. I had preeclampsia and my cervix shortened just after 24 weeks so I was put on restrictions. I was admitted to the hospital twice due to high blood pressure and contractions. I don’t think I coped so much as survived. I was a mess. I kept waiting the whole pregnancy for something to go wrong. I’m blessed with an amazing support system of friends and family and that helped. I also was in counseling. I had 1 more embryo and was waiting until I thought I could handle pregnancy again. We transferred last month. I’m currently miscarrying that baby girl. I would do a miserable pregnancy all over again if it ended in a healthy baby. Find a good support system. Find a dr that cares about your history and is patient with you. Pregnancy after loss is so hard.
