Confused and hurt

Found out we are having triplets. We are excited. We had a baby during the start of the pandemic so we didn’t get to have a baby shower with him.

Now that we are having 3, I want/need to have a baby shower. My husbands aunt hasn’t always treated her youngest nephew, my husband, with respect and we didn’t even want to tell her because she was relieved that “she didn’t have to buy anything for the first baby” or come to the baby shower that got cancelled.

So we told her recently because we had a family Christmas and had it all planned and she showed up unannounced. Her response was “oh great”.

A few days later she shows up at our home with a very dirty, clearly used and disgusting high chair. All I said was that It would need a good soak and cleaning first and that we need two more but I have them on a baby registry I created and she lost it! She said I was ungrateful and that she will give it to someone else. The next day we find out she gave a high chair to my husbands cousin for their baby but it was a brand new one in a box. 😓

I feel really confused and hurt. I honestly can’t stand how awful she is. We won’t be telling her anything about our babies or inviting her to anything. We are done and distancing ourselves from her.

Now I’m working on our registry which is supposed to be fun but this really makes me sad. I need a lot of things for triplets and I don’t want to seem ungrateful.
