How to break phone addiction

So my son is 2, and each time he sees my mom with a phone, he wants it. Now he has started wanting mine too. Before this, he wasnt interested in phones because I never had games, but my mom plays games on her phone which made him interested and now all I hear is "telephone" even first thing in the morning. Mind you, he will only touch my telephone maybe at most 30 minutes a day but I hate it. I have tried not having the phone myself for days but people complain they can't reach me. I cant even text anyone without him wanting it. I never thought it would be this hard but giving him a phone was not part of my parenting goals. How do I stop him from wanting a phone especially when he sees all adults on their phones.

I do realise we live in a technical age and I will have to give him some exposure so he can compete in this IT world but I don't want him to be that kid that can't function without a phone. To go to parties and not talk to anyone just on phone.
