Cultural differences?

I’m seeing this guy who wants to be in a relationship with me but I’m not sure about some differences that might be a problem. So he’s American and I’m half American and half arab but I grew up in an arab country my whole life.

He just went out with this girl friend of his that he recently met and went for a walk together. I mean this isn’t bad, but idk it’s kinda weird in my culture for a guy to go walking alone at night with a girl he just met. He did tell me about it, so I know he’s not hiding or sneaking around. So I’m wondering, is this something wrong with me or is it actually weird?

Btw he’s currently out of the country (where he went walking with this girl).
