Can we talk about what you do for a living?

Question

I'm about to be a single parent soon. And been a home stay mom for so long trying to see what I should do or what I should become.
What is your job?
How many years of college did you do?
How much are you making yearly? 
I'm honestly lost but I need to get out of my toxic relationship the only thing stopping me is I don't work and have no income... 😭 any tips welcomed help a momma out. I need my happiness and health back.

Banking. Specifically mortgage/equity loan processing. I make around $50k-ish a year after OT/bonuses are included. I don’t have a college degree. I have been in the field for one year, so I am in an entry level position. Before finding this position (which is remote/work from home), I was a bartender so I had no prior banking experience. Very grateful to have found my job. I plan to work hard at getting promoted to every level I’m able/making this line of work a career.
(I am located in Florida, USA - geographic location will make a huge difference in salary)

In vivo scientist. It was a degree in veterinary technology and then busting my ass to prove myself among stiff competition with masters and PhD associates for the past 10 years that I’ve been in the field. It’s probably not ideal as single parent since science doesn’t end at 5pm, there are weekends and nights involved depending on your work, and sometimes early mornings too. It’s also quite limited in the areas you can do it. There are basically 5 major markets in the US, and all are expensive cities. I make about ~130k depending how much OT and special projects I choose to do. Best of luck figuring it out :)

Xray tech here but now I’m a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech, cross trained after starting out in xray after graduating from a 2 year Radiologic Associate Degree program. $19 to start in xray and now making $44 an hour 10 years later as a Cath Tech. I take a shit ton of call for stroke and heart attacks and make about 90k a year. 
If you can afford it, I’d say do nursing or xray and get an associates. Most places will pay later for the required bachelors (nursing). Good money and a rewarding career

How motivated are you? And do you have family to help support you if you do decide to go back to school?  I’m a dentist. College would take 3-4 years for pre-requisite courses and in addition to 4 years of dental school. Average salary of a dentist is about $160,000 or even more give or take. 
When I was in dental school there was a single mom (who was in her mid 30s) in my class. She excelled in everything and became one of the top students in our class. I was amazed how she was about to balance school work and also taking care of a young child.  So if you are very motivated I think you can do anything that you put your mind to be :)

I’m a teacher. 4 years for undergraduate degree. $40K starting in our district. I have my master’s degree now (another 2 years), have been teaching for 10 years, and make $52K. My husband is in the same district, no master’s, 9 years experience and makes $42K. 
Depending on your state requirements, you could look into substitute teaching or being a para or other non-teaching position at a school. Some are hourly, some are salary. Some are 9mo or 12mo. Almost every school is hurting for employees. Even if it’s not what you want to do long term, it’s money fairly quickly. Subs make $150-200/day in our area.

I'm a SAHM. Before that, I was a therapist. I keep my license active, because I will return to my field one day. I was in school for 8 years and made $47k a year. Not the best paying job. If I eventually move to private practice, I could probably make closer to $65k. But you don't do these kinds of jobs for the money. Haha.

I work for a TPA processing healthcare appeals. I’m the final step before litigation. I like the job but hate the unrealistic expectations. I’ve been remote since the beginning of the pandemic and will most likely remain remote. I have a bachelor of science in social sciences and a master of science in management which I kind of regret because both degrees are so general. I make $75,000/yearly. My boss told me she hired me because I have a masters so she figured I could write well (my job consists of a lot of technical writing).

Optometrist, here the education is a 3 years university program, and i have an additional year so I can fit contact lenses. 
Depending on how much and where you work it's typically around $55000 -$65000 a year.

Workforce Planning and Scheduling for a healthcare company. No degree (still a few credits shy on my bachelors) but I’ve worked in healthcare scheduling and administration for over 10 years. I make 100k per year 90% remote from home.

I own my own company. Depending on the month, I make between R10000 - R15000. I didn't study, no tertiary education at all. This just kind of fell into my lap. It's not enough to pay ALL the bills but if I was alone in a smaller place, with less expenses then it would cover most things.
Before that I was a project manager for the company I now own, again no experience, no education. Just hard work and some organisational skill.
Before that I was a medical centre receptionist / informal (and unpaid) manager. And before that I managed a medical practice for five years. Also, no experience in that, just luckily had some basic accounts experience and that was that. They took a chance and it worked out.
The accounts experience I had came from when I first started working, it was as telesales for a real estate company. They changed direction and asked me if I wanted to learn how to do different things, so I took them up on that. Spent several years there but wasn't going anyway so I left for the medical practice.
My only formal education is high school. That's it. Everything else I learnt in the job.
