Is this mastitis and how to treat without antibiotics ?

I just had my baby last Thursday and I’ve been breastfeeding and doing formula but I decided to stick to exclusively breastfeeding. My breast have been painful because baby doesn’t empty out my breast fully. I’ve been massaging my breast but even though they hurt they don’t look red outside like most breast with mastitis. Today as I was getting my kids ready for school i started getting chills that were so bad I had to stop doing what I was doing. I currently have a fever but I can’t get antibiotics since I don’t have a primary care doctor. Is there anyway to get rid of it without antibiotics?

If it is actually mastitis you’ll definitely need antibiotics if you don’t treat it you could end up with an abscess

I wouldnt mess with mastitis. Get antibiotics asap cz if you cant get rid of it painful abscess territory you go. My abscess was bigger than a golfball.

I ate 3 cloves of garlic on toast in the morning and night and next day it was good thank God!!!

Your OB can treat you for mastitis if that’s truly what it is. However your boobs will feel very full the first few weeks until they regulate out. You can use a haakaa or a hand pump to relieve the pressure enough.

Your OB will give you antibiotics. But also nurse or pump on that side as much as possible. Put a warm compress and massage to help loosen the block. Put epsom salt and heated water in a haakaa and use that a couple of times a day. The epsom salt really helped me. Anytime I have a clogged duct I do this and it helps immediately.

My ob gave me the antibiotics each time I had mastitis. You definitely want to get them started ASAP so it doesn’t get worse.

Any fever postpartum call the OB ASAP. It could be an infection elsewhere like in your uterus, not mastitis. Good luck. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Call your OB. Mine treated me when I had thrush in my breasts while nursing, I don’t see why they wouldn’t treat you for mastitis.
