How did you wean your breastfeed baby after 12m?

Like, what was the actual process? How many feeds a day were you doing and when? Which feed did you cut first?

I slowly start around 10 months. I slowly drop feeds. By 12 months I have them nursing morning and night, twice a day. And then they choose when to wean fully.

Just dropping 1 feed per week. Start with the morning one, replace with breakfast as soon as bub wakes up. Then replace any other day feeds with food. The one before bed goes last, we replaced with some yoghurt. The first few night both kids were a bit confused and upset not having a feed, but it only took a couple of nights

I think everyone does it differently. Some people go cold turkey just stop, some cut a feeding at a time. My son was still nursing every two hours or so at 12 months so I cut down feedings to only before his two naps and bed/night feedings. Offered him food or water when he acted like he wanted to nurse. He is 13 months now and I’ll be cutting nap feedings and lessening night feedings. Bedtime nursing was the last one to go with my daughter and probably will be for my son too. I plan to be done about 14 months or so. My daughter was easier to wean and was done at 13 months
