Beta fish question 😂 I’m sorry

So I got my daughter a beta fish over the summer and recently he has started to get stuck to the filter. Likehe wraps his whole body around the filter that sticks in the water. The beta fish I had before I had my daughter lived to be 4 years old and I never had a problem with him. Once I move him off the filter he is fine swimming around and he can also get himself off the filter. Like is he ok? 😂 does he just like being sucked to the filter? My daughter tells me he is sick and I need to help him anytime he is on the filter. I hope this is allowed and I won’t be made fun of 😤
