Boyfriend moving

My boyfriend just told me he applied to summer jobs in a state far away from where we currently live. It’s where his brother lives. I was kinda taken back by it. I can’t ever see myself living there nor did he ask me to. We’ve been dating for almost two years but don’t talk too much about future plans because he’s just finishing up school. I would never want to make him feel like he can’t chase his dreams just feel kinda lost right now
