Remarried and ttc

I was married at a very young age and it ended in a divorce after an over 10 year marriage (due to the start of physical abuse and the multiple cheating). When I was married I had a tubal ligation. Now I’m remarried to a childhood friend and reversed my tubes because he would love a little us, and is very good to me, my kids and his nieces and nephews. God has given me a second chance to ttc. We even pray for God to allow his will to be done!

Yet I know when I get pregnant, there’s going to be a lot of negative talk of me starting over, or the what if you guys don’t work out type of deal. So we’ve decided to not announce it until I truly start to show once it does happen! Our parents are thrilled and is staying quiet, but I have a huge family and very opinionated! I would love to announce it because kids are a blessing, but I know my happiness would turn into hurt! I know I shouldn’t care… Did any one of you ever kept your pregnancy a secret from family and friends?
