What can we do? What’s the best plan?

So my hubby works in construction and majority of the time he’s an hour or 2 away. My due date is next month. I was wondering what’s the best plan/strategy to do so he can be there for sure? I was thinking of him telling his boss to just get jobs closer to us for that month or asking for at least a week or two off. Which his boss has no problem with…

My husband works 2.5 hours from home, and about 3.5 hours from the hospital I’ll deliver. He will continue to work until I go into labor. He will leave work if he’s on that day, the minute I figure out I’m in labor and come to me. If I have to go to the hospital before he gets home, lll drive myself to the fire station(can’t call, I’ll get the wrong people because of where I live), and have them take me if I can’t drive myself. He can meet me there. I know the chance of delivering before he gets there is slim. I’m still early though. We have 29 weeks to worry about it lol.

My husband is in the same boat. With our first he could leave at any time and was close to home but now he’s hours away and at the mercy of whoever he is with. Also with our first I was induced so that was good - but I was 2 full days in labor. He only gets 5 days off a year and I’d hate to waste them being in labor the whole time. I’d rather have him off and home enjoying the baby.

What can we do? What’s the best plan?
