Why didn't the adderal do that to me?

This is fucked up but I accidentally drugged my friend on vyvance in high school.

So I used adderal in the title because most people haven't even heard of vyvance. Pretty much the same thing. My doctor had me on 75mg of vyvance. This was too much for me. My mom forced me to take it mornings and an hour into school I was GACKED. It was not a good feeling. I was tingly and hot all over because it was too much all at once. I also would develop some kind of rash all over my face and chest.

So I go to my mom and my doctor and tell them this. My doctor tells me and my mom that being hot is just a side affect and the rash is from being hot. I asked to have my dose taken down.

He said no. Instead he said to break the capsule open and pour it in a water bottle and drink it all day long that way the dose wouldn't hit me so hard at once.

Got him to sign off on that for the school. I was bringing meth water and I needed a doctors note.

So i actually did so much better when I was doing this and just drinking the water all day. I was actually able to breathe and function right. The vyvance didn't leave a taste in the water.

One day in art class, we are working with clay. It required us to be up and moving around the class to get tools and such.

I left my water in the drink pocket of my backpack, my friend picked it up and started drinking it.

I didn't notice that she was drinking MY water until it was too late and she drank it all. I started panicking really bad because back then I didn't know if it could kill her I just knew other people weren't supposed to take your meds for serious reasons.

She's like... fucked up off my vyvance. Stupid fucked up. I took her to the office and was just looking at her crazy because of how wild she was being. Her eyes were black holes. I was thinking to myself, she did not even get my whole dose. Why doesn't it do that to me? I don't pet the couch.

Anyways like I said, The school had approved this doctors note and knew I had my meth water and I took her in there and explained that she didn't know, and I didn't notice. They were like "oh my freaking god." But didn't freak out on me because I had my drink in my backpack and she took it out herself and drank it all. They simply made me agree to keep it in my bag if I wasn't drinking it and I did that.

Luckily, thank god she had a really laid back mom.

My mom felt fucking horrible. So I went back to gacking myself at 5am everyday all at once.

I have a question. Why is it that people who have ADHD don't get High off this medication? I never got "high" I just turned into a zombie with no personality and no appetite. I learned later that people take it to get high. I was on an ABSURD dose and never got a high feeling.

It's a genuine question. Once I turned 18 and had control of my medical decisions, I never took vyvance again.

But what's so different about my brain chemistry having ADHD that it doesn't do that to me?
