Should pregnancy delay a divorce?

pregnancy delay a divorce?" />
I was having a random coversation at lunch and learned that in Texas judges won't generally grant divorces, if the wife is pregnant, until after the baby is born. This is true, even if the husband is allegedly not the father.

The minimum mandatory waiting period in Texas after filing for divorce is already 2 months without a pregnancy. Texas divorce petitions ask if the wife is pregnant. If she is, the judge will almost always wait until after the birth to grant the divorce.

What do you think about this and/or of mandatory waiting periods at all?

*No, I'm not getting a divorce...just curious about stuff. :)
