Thats dumb because what if we dont get the apartment or house and we paid for nothing? This application fee this stupud lady wants $50 for each applicant like wtf??! Am i going to get that $100 back if i dont get the damn house for rent? Do i ask? That’s ridiculous every application should be free when applying for a house.. or apartment…

Just be careful. A new scam is collecting a bunch of application fees. Make sure you do your due diligence and ask what credit scores they’re looking for, how much money they expect for you to make (usually 2-3x the rent), and background concerns if any. Make sure they have a place available for when you expect to move in. All this can help you gage if the application fee is worth it. If a place doesn’t have application fees, ask why bc it’s definitely 🚩🚩 you wouldn’t want to rent from scammers or live near sketchy neighbors

$50 is the cheapest application fee I’ve ever heard of. I’ve always paid around $100 per person. It’s so they can run your background check and credit check. If you end up not renting the apartment, whether that’s the landlords choice or your choice, they don’t get back the money they spent on the background check.
