Can you tell me why?

Why do some people pose in pics with their ankles crossed? I have horrible balance and I've tried standing like this in heels and i almost killed myself. It seems so uncomfortable especially for people who wear high heels. Are they doing it cause one of their feet hurt and they don't have anywhere else to put the foot they aren't standing on? Im a female and I never understood why people pose like this for pics. Is is supposed to make you look more statuesque or something.

Why do people pose with a duck face. Is it because they have a cramp in their cheek? No they just do it

I think it's to accentuate your curves while streamlining/slimming other parts of your body. Idk...

Just guessing, but maybe it's slimming? Or helps to accentuate (or fake) an hourglass figure?

I'm sure it's supposed to be aesthetically pleasing in some way.

I've never seen this before... do you mean they cross their ankles like they cross their legs?

I don't know why most people do it standing.  As a photographer I have women cross their ankles only when sitting down because it is more pleasing to the eye.

For some women in some it can be slimming.

In general, not standing straight-on to the camera, having your arms bent and away from your body, weight resting on back leg/front leg bent is pretty universally flattering.

Some people overdo it and it just looks unnatural and uncomfortable. Good posing, where you look your absolute best while still looking casual, is actually pretty tough.

Because they think it makes then look better. Whenever you see someone making the same pose or face in every photo it's generally because they think it's more attractive.
