Anyone else have issues with roommates stealing items/food?!

This shit makes me so irritated! I live in a house w 5 other people & I never had a problem with it until the most recent girl moved in! I actually caught her taking my stuff and now my food is also going missing! 🤬

When I had a roommate I made it clear in a nice way that I would buy what I wanted and she could buy what she wanted and I repeated that weekly it felt like and she still would take and eat my food. If I went grocery shopping she wouldn’t. I finally just stopped buying grocery’s and would buy what I wanted a day at a time mainly bc I was so irritated over it. I finally just had enough among other things she did and I just moved out and left her to it 😬✌🏼

I know this sucks. But, are you able to get a mini fridge to put in your room? At least you can store some of your things in there. I know it’s not convenient when you need to cook something, but it may help. Also, can you change the lock on your door? At least you can lock your door when you are away.

Are they aware that food isn’t shared in your household?

My roommates and I just usually ask each other if we want to eat something that’s theirs. Works out well. But if you don’t want her to eat your food just tell her that your not okay with it ( tell her you are on a strict budget or something so it doesn’t come across as mean, best to keep good relations with roommates)
