Learning disability? Name of it?

I can never remember anything if I take notes during class. If I don't, then I remember everything. But if I take notes, it's as if I never attended the class.

A friend told me this is a learning difficulty/disability that has a name, but he could not remember the name. I tried googling it and did not find the name.

Anybody knows what I am talking about or what it's called?
