How much tv does your baby under 1 watch?

Hi All,
I'm wondering how you feel about baby watching tv? I keep telling my husband No TV for my baby girl, but he periodically turns on kids shows to football and plops her in front. He's bored, it's winter and there is not much to do... I get it. But it's also not supporting her development. The tv is on and the baby looks at it for a min or so, I don't care, but to watch for extended time.... I'm not so sure

I don't have kids but I wouldn't let my baby watch tv cartoons until 2 at least. It's been proven that under 2, it's a lot of stimulation that the brain can't understand. It can affect speech, sleep, development skills, etc. Of course lots of babies watch it and end up fine! It's just not good for their brain to watch tv so early on in their development.

Idk some babies love tv and I don’t think it’s true that it’s not good for their development. It depends on what they’re watching. Like are they watching adult shows or shows like bubble guppies where it’s mostly teaching numbers,letters, etc.

I don’t time it but our tv is almost always on. I rarely just plop her in front, though. Occasionally, I put her in her swing to watch bluey while I shower or cook dinner when solo play is not working. Otherwise she might watch what I’m watching but never glued to it.

I don't time it. TV is on most days, he usually doesn't watch it at all. But he watches commercials passin by.
