How to encourage 19 month old to go to the toilet?

I've brought the stair thing to sit on the actual toilet and she sits for ages but doesn't wee. I think she gets shy! What can I do to encourage her? She hates the potty so this is the best chance x

If she hates the potty she likely isn't ready to potty train yet. 19 months is really early. While not impossible most kids aren't ready until 2 years old. Bring her with you, show her how it's done, talk to her about it. Maybe give her a toddler potty to play with but ultimately they will do it when they are ready. You can Google potty training readiness signs and go from there. There are behaviors and signs they show when they are ready to start. If she's not showing them she's likely not ready

If she’s shy, sit her on the potty and walk out. Stay where you can hear her and make sneak a peek around the corner.

19 months is still super early in most places mama! Just encourage the sitting on it and like the other person said, bring her with you. You can also try immediately after nap time, 15 minutes after drinking liquids/eating, things like that. But it may just be too early for her!

Bring her with you when you use the toilet! Have her be in the bathroom with you and talk to her about using the potty being normal. Bring the training potty with you and have her sit on it while you both do your business. Kids want to be like mom and dad and seeing you use the potty can help their fears. Good luck.
