Confused and need advice

So, I am 20 years old. My boyfriend from a year and a few months agos mother has been texting my mom continuously. Well today I found out from my mom that my exs mother told her that he has been trying to contact me via number making calls etc. His mom had told my mom, that he tries to call me but it kept going to voice mail and she told him to stop because I have a boyfriend now so he fought with her saying it was all her fault we aren’t together anymore. That it was too late. Which again she did a lot of things that jeopardize it; controlling very rude all around. He was a mothers boy. She treated me pretty poorly for along time. Well back to the story that she keeps contacting my mom about stuff she has been for a while and knowing he has been tryna talk to me. I am so angry and confused because he treated me so poorly and now when I am happy why do this? What’s the reason?
