Mom sick with flu

Hey fellow mommas!

So this morning at 5am I woke up and immediately had to run to the bathroom to throw up.

Thinking it’s the flu or food poisoning. Took a covid test and it was negative.

Anyways. Baby boy is EBF and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to continue to BF without getting baby sick!? Help!!!

You can wear a mask while around babe. Wash your hands A LOT. Keep breastfeeding as babe will get antibodies from whatever you have and that will help prevent babe from getting it.

I didn’t do anything different when I was sick with covid. I kept breastfeeding on demand. She was 4 months at the time and tested negative for covid. Just keep breastfeeding as much as possible to pass on those antibodies.

Nope. Baby was already exposed prior to me testing positive anyway.

Did you wear a mask too?

The best way to protect babe is to just keep nursing him and giving him all your antibodies. I had norovirus over the summer (likely what you have, causes most stomach viruses and is extremely contagious) and my then 7 month old never caught it! I’m convinced it was because he was breastfed. Feel better.
