Critical family members

I must say my family has the habit of being judgmental and overly critical. My brother has made comments about my 3 year old for having a big tummy. Even though, I said I appreciate if we don’t criticize a small child like that, they can develop eating disorders and self-esteem issue. The same evening she grabbed her belly and said she got a big belly.

Then the other day, he thought it was funny to flap her ear for standing out. I said to stop that and he said he’s just kidding around.

My mom has told my child to stop crying like a stupid girl and to shut up.

This is NOT how I want to raise my LO. When I make a comment, they say I’m being sensitive and LO will hear worse once she goes to school.

How is this normal? It pisses me off!
