Husband didn’t do anything for valentines

The Little Mermaid

I just feel unloved and not womanly enough. I cried about it too because most women received flowers by their man. I got nothing. It’s not the flowers or the gifts it’s the thought/idea. I explained how I felt and he got upset and said it’s was too expensive (he has money for beer and entertaining guests) but still went to get me flowers just because I felt bad. I said I won’t receive them if it’s out of obligation. He should of thought about it before like every other man. It costed $85 and he said they were not even nice so he wasted money. I think they are very pretty but it really was not a meaningful gift by him because he bought them out of anger, but I am still happy with them because they are beautiful and the vase is for house so I can keep it for whenever I buy flowers in the future. Am I being a spoiled brat or is he being a crappy husband? Or is Valentine’s Day all propaganda and I should stay away from social media? I’m on my period so I’m a little extra emotional.

On another note I am the breadwinner of the home I’m the rock of this house. If it wasn’t for me he wouldn’t be living the way he does. I just want to be appreciated and treated like a lady for once in my life. I don’t know if that’s too much to ask for. I feel taken for granted. When we were younger he would go all out and I’m still pretty young (27) and get excited for surprises. I’m a romantic type so I always appreciate these things. He has not been putting any effort in anything lately.
