Am I in the wrong ?

Kimberly

So Sunday I visited my boyfriend at his family’s home because it was Super Bowl Sunday and he wanted to watch the game with his uncles and I was totally in for it. He told me he had something for me and I got excited bc it was for valentines. He had given me one of those candy hearts that you break with a cute stick and it has pretzels and chocolate covered strawberries. So fastward to when I break it and I eat some and then I end up going to where his uncles were with him (we were alone when he gave me my gift and asked me to break it and take a bite to the chocolate).

Once we get situated with where his uncles were (there were only two uncles and 1 of his guy cousins), he ends up offering them the candy/treats he gave me to them. At that moment I was really upset because why would you offer them the gift you gave me before even asking me. I love his family so I would’ve definitely said yes but he just did it without asking or giving me a heads up. At the movement, although I was upset, I openly offered them to take some too but over all I’m extremely pissed he I didn’t ask me.

When I brought it up to him, these were some of the things he told me:

You’re wrong for that.

My family always gives you food & never ask for anything in return and you couldn’t give them any candy?(he said this after I told him I would have definitely said yes to sharing if he asked)

That’s really sad you think like that.

Literally all I wanted him was to respect me enough to ask me, but he can’t understand that. I’m not upset he shared it, but it was my gift that I should’ve shared on my own accord.

Am I wrong for being upset!
