I got out of a relationship with my daughters father about a year ago, she is 3 now. He hasn’t tried to visit her or talk to her or anything the whole year.. I haven’t asked for child support because I don’t want him to have her for 1 sec alone.. I’m in Florida and I have given him plenty of options to see her without me present and he refused he only wants me to be there.. I spoke to one lawyer within the free 30 mins and they told me after a year of no child support and not seeing her he automatically gives up his rights.. I’m going to text him saying “hey, it’s been a year now and you haven’t tried to speak to or see your daughter. Would you like to relinquish your rights or see her in the future? Let me know your decision. It is the last time I am giving you this opportunity to have a relationship with her otherwise the courts will decide” 
He has said before that I should give her up for adoption(after and I have it all saved)

I wouldn’t even give him the consideration of a text. I would just file with the courts. Good riddance loser! Your daughter doesn’t need someone in and out of her life that doesn’t want her, and that you have to force to be there. ✌🏼

I wouldn't make contact. He has made his choice do not give him an option. You do whats best for your daughter. I can tell you its not some dead beat in and out of her life on his terms. Cut the disappointments now.

I don’t know under what law they believe he gives up his rights after a year but I’m in Fl also and absolutely have been told the opposite by multiple lawyers. Divorced almost 12 years ago, he’s gone many thousands in arrears in child support, he’s gone over two years at a time with absolutely no contact with child or myself. You can petition the court to dissolve his rights but when you look at the scenarios that qualify unfortunately most of them require that he’s actually harmed the child or another child already. The courts about keeping children with parents and in my case wouldn’t even take away the rights of a proven drug addict. My son is about to turn 15 and has wanted to be adopted by my husband and change his last name for years now but my hands are tied. He still plans to do it upon turning 18.
