Would you use a family name even if you didn’t really like it?

My daughter has a family name for her middle name. Now feeling pressure to do the same for my son but just not loving any boy family names 😭 I feel lost

Have you gone back a couple generations for inspiration? Are there any variations of the names in your family that you like? Names that could be unisex? What about surnames or nicknames? If you want to go with a family name, I’d ask these questions before you dismiss it entirely.

I'm not q huge family name user.   I always worry about it coming out years down the road that they were a creep or something lol

I'm not a huge family name type but I did give my son my father's name as his middle name because unfortunately he passed away before getting to meet him so it was more to honor him and while I was pregnant I just had this strong feeling that my son would be a similar personality to my dad and it was actually true! Lol

You don’t have to choose a family name for your son. It shouldn’t be forced. Choose what you like and what comes natural to you.

I don’t think you have to continue a trend of any sort unless you truly want to. My first daughter doesn’t have a family name. My 2nd daughters middle name is my grandmas middle name who I just love so much and wanted to honor. Pregnant now with my 3rd and they will not have a family name
