What’s the difference between being polite and flirting?

What are the signs you all look for to tell you whether someone is simply being polite or friendly versus flirting with you? How can you tell the difference especially if you’re just hooking up? What would be the signs that there could be more?

When it comes to a stranger, a compliment, and then nothing more it’s just them being polite, if they pursue further, that’s your sign that they want more. If they try and get your number, if they try and have a conversation with you, etc. for the person you’re talking about that you’re hooking up with, I will take anything that they say with a grain of salt, until their actions prove otherwise. If they say they wanna relationship with you, if they specifically say that they want to be with you, they want to put a title on the relationship, they sometimes like the girlfriend benefits, But do not want to commitment and responsibility that comes with a relationship. Sometimes people tell you what you wanna hear, and sometimes a string you along, but their actions will dictate. Effort and consistency are important, if they’re not making the effort towards you, who or what is receiving the effort. Can you just hang out and not have sex, or is it just about sex. If you want more from this person, you’re gonna need to have a conversation and see where they are coming from. If they tell you they’re not looking for a commitment, they’re not looking for a relationship, they’re not looking for anything serious, etc., it’s just sex and hooking up and hanging out, you’re good enough to have sex with, but you’re not good enough to be in a relationship with. You’re not what I want, but I will settle for you because my needs are being met for now. That’s exactly what friends with benefits and all these situations really are the bottom line. Have a conversation with him. What are your intentions, where do you see this going, what are you looking for, etc. and if your needs do not meet, then don’t waste your time￼￼
