Nursing advice

Our baby was born on the 4th and nursed three times in the first 24 hrs and then went on strike and wouldn’t eat for hours, (8-12). He has finally eaten twice recently but needed sugar water to encourage him and a nipple cover. Any tips for keeping him eating? We go home today and he gets so frustrated when he is

hungry and won’t eat
