Can I stop taking birth control whenever?

I was wanting to get off birth control, I was wondering if I could just stop or if I have to do it in a certain way?

I just stopped taking it waited for my withdrawal bleed that happend a week later then my periods returned to normal 3 months later I was pregnant lol x

I stopped taking the pill asap due to serious side effects, later talked to the pharmacy and they said good for stopping quickly.
I was also on Nuvaring long before that, didn't want to be on it anymore. Took it out after the 3 weeks and never replaced. No issues either. 
It will take a few months-months for your body to adjust to normal but you will be ok. Just advise your doc you're not on it anymore
