Can anyone else relate?

My due date is March 18th so I only have 10 days hopefully till I meet my little guy. I haven’t seen my him fully since I found out his gender at 21 weeks. I’m going in for weekly appointments I haven’t been checked to see if I’m dilated at all. All they have checked has been the baby heartbeat. I don’t know my babies weight at all. I’m very nervous to give birth because I haven’t been told basically anything and I have no faith in these doctors. I’m not sure if should give birth in the hospital i currently am at. Does anyone have any advice?

Sounds pretty standard. If they’re not worried about the baby, why do extra procedures? Weight/sizing can be off on ultrasound and measuring fundal height let’s you know baby is growing. And checking dilation/effacement doesn’t tell you anything. You can be dilated for weeks prior to birth or go from nothing to active labor in a matter of hours.

Same here, I haven’t had more ultrasounds or anything but I think that is very common when you’re having a pregnancy without complications! With my first daughter I was measuring small so I had an extra ultrasound but with my son and this baby, no extra ultrasounds as I am on track. Don’t worry mama ❤️

That’s pretty common. I know it can be hard reading others say their baby weighed a certain amount at 36 weeks or whatever, but there’s no reason to have another ultrasound after the anatomy scan unless the doctor is concerned, you’re high risk or you pay for one. A baby’s weight can’t be accurately estimated from an ultrasound anyways. Checking your cervix doesn’t tell much either. I walked around 4 cm dilated with my 2nd child for weeks and didn’t go into labor until 40 weeks on the dot. 🤷‍♀️

To be honest the weight by ultrasound can be off by 2 pounds. And dilation means nothing until you are in active labor. I wasn’t checked at all with my first and my water broke at 1cm and had him less than 15 hours later.
